Managing Millennials in the Workplace: Are you Living out your Vision and Values?

Brandon told me about his experience with a company he worked for at the start of his career:
“The division I worked in had all these touchy slogans on the wall about putting the customer first, courtesy, and hard work. However, the reality was that everyone knew the priority was quarterly earnings statements and annual results and revenue. The Millennials can snuff that out so fast. Leaders need a compelling and inspiring brand, vision and values that aren’t just on the wall but are actually lived out. Our younger generation wants to sign up for something that’s going to make an impact.”
“A good boss will know the causes that are important to their employees, especially with younger people. We care about work-life balance, the social position of the company, being transparent about investments, and sustainability. The concept of ‘Work-life’ and ‘Homelife’ almost does not exist anymore as we strive to have a purpose behind everything we do.”
