How to Build Millennial Leadership in this Season
This is the time of year when we have a host of unique opportunities to build relationships with Millennial leaders both at work and at home.
What might you be doing during this season to encourage the leadership qualities in Millennials in your life?
As I’m reflecting on this time of year, I realized that there are three actions we can take to nurture the leadership strengths of next-gen leaders in our lives whenever and wherever we connect with them. Watch this 2 minute Millennials Minute video for some
I received a Season’s Greeting from my friend, Bruce Gjovig, The Paradoxical Commandments, written by Dr. Kent M. Keith. It’s an excellent reminder for us in the work we do as leaders committed to impacting the lives of Millennials in our sphere of influence – now and into the new year.
The Paradoxical Commandments:
1. People are illogical, unreasonable and self-centered. Love them anyway.
2. If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Do good anyway.
3. If you are successful, you win false friends and true enemies. Succeed anyway.
4. The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.
5. Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable. Be honest and frank anyway.
6. The biggest people with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest people with the smallest ideas. Think big anyway.
7. People favor underdogs, but follow only top dogs. Fight for underdogs anyway.
8. What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight. Build anyway.
9. People who really need help may attack you if you do help them. Help them anyway.
10. Give the world the best you have and you’ll get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you have anyway.

Best Wishes for the Season.
