It’s a Great Time to Reassess Business and Sales Leadership with C.S. Lewis
Does anyone know the backstory of this quote by C.S. Lewis?
I’m a huge C.S. Lewis fan. I love the Aslan, and the 4 children. I think of Reepicheep often – one of the bravest of knights!
When I read this quote, I resonated. 2020 is a time for us to re-assess our business and sales leadership. It’s a great time to ask ourselves with renewed intentionality, “How might I make a positive difference? At work? With employees? With clients? With vendors? With suppliers? With prospects? With family? With Millennial leaders?
There are so many places where we can do good work and make a positive difference in the world.

And in your case with Life’s Core Purpose your question would go like this? How can I engage to cause fulfillment? It’s the power of a question. If you give your mind a question it has to solve the problem. If you ask your mind to do what you’re great at to cause what you care about, it will automatically go to work on the problem. Ask the question first thing in the morning, and last thing before you go to sleep. It works in the moment as well. In the middle of a sale for example, how can I engage this prospect to cause the fulfillment of the sale?
Jeff, the concept reminds me of how David would engage himself in conversation! Why are you in despair oh my soul? Hope in God. I shall yet praise him! Thanks for bringing clarity to my purpose!

Thanks, Jeff Pelletier, During this COVID time, I’m pivoting like many of us. So, to be more precise about the question is helpful. How might I engage to cause fulfillment? Hmmmmm…I might need a coaching session, Jeff.
Old? What’s that? 🙂

Sometimes we get way too set in our ways and are way too upset about the shifts and changes happening in our cultures, our lives, and our work. Another option is to realize what we can control vs. what we can’t control…..then ask ourselves, “How might I make a positive difference?” Or, given the new circumstances that I’m dealing, and in light of my Life Core Purpose, “How might I make a positive difference?”
So, regardless of what the calendar says our age is, we can cultivate mental agility by asking, “How might I make a positive difference?” FYI: I’m meditating on this question for myself….and, encouraging others to do so also. Thanks, Jeff Pelletier,
Ephesians 2:10 is a guide on this question.
Danita, this an awesome quote. Thanks for sharing. It is never too late for a big dream and a new idea.

It IS never too late, Paul Cronin, Managing Partner Cornerstone3 Inc. I love the concept of your workshop – how to achieve market domination. Here’s how a friend of mine says it, “We’re thinking anyway – let’s think big!”
I was working through some files today and found this from a couple of years ago! I appreciate our friendship, and your support & encouragement. Paul Cronin, Managing Partner Cornerstone3 Inc.
I’m a fan of Aslan, but then my last name is Lyon

If I recall it was shortly after he published Mere Christianity. We were hanging out at Starbucks one afternoon when I said this.
Danita, I don’t but agree!
