As part of my Leadership Development work, I recently started reading Boys Adrift: The 5 Factors Driving the Growing Epidemic of Unmotivated Boys and Underachieving Young Men by Leonard Sax, MD, PHD. In the first 4 chapters, he's talking primarily to those involved in educating and training today's K-12 students about these trends:

  • Changes at School
  • Video Games
  • Medications for ADHD
  • Endocrine Disruptors
  • Lack of Male Role Models

My current leadership development focus (and my upcoming book) is building leaders with character to lead in the Age of AI. Grounding leadership in strong values and sound judgment is critical during this time of rapid change due to digital and AI advancement. This Washington Post article offers a sobering reminder of why that foundation matters more than ever. In fact, I was quite shocked at what I was reading.

From a leadership development perspective, I'm thinking about Romans 1: 22, 25  today as it relates to continued advancements of AI: 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised.

When Jim Garlow gave me a signed copy of Reversed: From Culturally Woke to Biblically Awake, I quickly scanned the Index to see what he covered in the book.  My eyes immediately spotted this chapter on Artificial Intelligence.

How does AI intersect with my work with Character Mandate: Winning Strategies for Winning in the AI Revolution, and my previous work,  Millennials Matter: Proven Strategies for Building Your Next-Gen Leader?
