During our recent trip to Tanzania, I spoke at the Global Leadership Forum on two university campuses. Even though all four presenters had a slightly different focus for our presentations, we all spoke of the importance of character as a key differentiator. As we talked with the university students, they agreed that creating a Leadership Strategy today is not for the faint of heart. In a world of constant disruption and digital noise, leaders everywhere, including Tanzania, are asking: Will we lead AI or will AI enslave us? I believe the answer lies in another question every leader should ask, whether they are a university student or a seasoned business professional - How do I stay grounded, authentic, and influential when everything is changing so fast?

Focusing on leadership development, I’ve often written about my admiration for Bob Tiede, author of Leading with Questions. His work resonates deeply with me—after all, in Millennials Matter, I referenced the power of questions 157 times. So when his latest newsletter landed in my inbox, it hit at the perfect moment.
