transformational leadership Tag

My leadership development guidebook, Millennials Matter was inspired by three timeless principles. Almost everything I've written since the publication of Millennials Matter revolves around these core concepts:
  • Strengthen Your Character
  • Lead with Confidence
  • Engage in Collaboration
But are they still relevant in today’s fast-paced, ever-changing world? A world marked by digital disruption, cultural shifts, and global economic and political upheaval?

Gordon and I decide to celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary in Costa Rica. We look forward to hiking the volcanoes, soaking in mineral-rich mud baths, and surfing the waves. Of course, I'm always thinking about leadership development.  3 Valuable leadership lessons bubble up: 1.) Blue Zone: What business building blocks might we learn from Blue Zones? 2.) Red Zone: How does the seemingly innocent pastime of gossiping destroy those building blocks? 3.) Blue Zone vs. Red Zone: What are the shocking differences between them?

“The world is undergoing a rapid shift, and millions of young adults struggle to find their footing. Amid this cultural chaos, next-gen leaders need the benefit of what we know. They need our wisdom and insights. This message is for all of us who are builders of companies and leaders of people.” This  Millennials Matter prophetic call is increasingly relevant. And, your commitment in spreading the message is growing in global impact. Here’s a sampling of your great contributions...

“I just love my new boss.  He really cares about me!” When I asked this Next-Gen leader from a high-tech industry how he knows this, he said, “Well, the other day, he spent twenty-five minutes talking about my goals and dreams. Then, he asked what he could do to help me achieve those goals. He really cares!” He went on to say how he loves the company and that he's recruiting all of his friends to work with him. Now, this is engagement! How engaged are the people on your team? Are you a transformational leader?
